Summertime Science
Summertime is the perfect time for science!
With few formal lessons, classes, and sports, the children are free to explore almost anything.
This summer, my children are trying out a few experiments and demonstrations. Just this week they built their own contraptions to safely drop an egg from a second story window. Each child created a type of parachute and affixed it to a paper cup, which held the egg. {I asked them to bag the egg for ease of clean-up, if necessary.} All four children successfully dropped an egg from the second story window without the egg breaking.
Next week, my oldest son will test the strength of his toothpick bridge by placing a brick on it.

Egg Drop was one of my favorite classes to teach!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a great idea to get some science experiments done when we have time to actually enjoy doing them.
